Top Financial Advisors in Northern Virginia: The Monument Team Does it Again

Top Financial Advisors in Northern Virginia

Our very own Co-Founders David B. Armstrong, CFA and Dean J. Catino, CFP®, CPWA® were once again featured as Top Financial Advisors in Northern Virginia Magazine!  The nominations were submitted by local financial professionals through Northern Virginia Magazine’s annual survey. We’re proud to be able to tell you that when our peers are asked “Which Financial Professionals would you trust your family and friends with?”, they point to us.

In an industry defined by it’s competitive nature, peer affirmation is something that’s often overlooked…But these professionals are the people who know our industry best.

Financial professionals often have to work across industry lines to meet the many needs of 21st century entrepreneurs, business owners and executives.  One of the ways we help our clients is by building relationships with other top professionals such as CPAs, Trust and Estate Attorneys, Investment Bankers, and often times other financial advisors, too.

Being a lifelong learner is essential for a company that’s always searching for a better way. In the pursuit of perfection, we’re comfortable with change, and sometimes the best people to learn from are our peers who try something new and are getting it right. Of course we share our best practices with them, too, through speaking at and attending conferences, appearing as guests on podcasts, getting active in financial industry professional groups, and simply giving each other a call to see what’s new.  When someone asks us how we do things, we love to share, because the best way to service our clients is to help each other rise to the challenge.  We believe our peers recognize this, too, and while sometimes these financial professionals are technically competitors, we prefer the term colleagues when they respect us, what we do, and how we do it.

Creating a symbiotic relationship with our clients and peer organizations is one of the traits that has allowed Monument to receive recognition and thrive in its environment.  When we think highly of our vocational peers, we want to recommend them for recognition the same way they recommend us.  It’s not just about winning, but helping the right people win along side us.  First and foremost that means bringing in not just any clients, but the right clients. We want to make sure if we’re going to work together, we’re the firm that’s best suited to help them achieve their goals.
