Monument Wealth Honored as Community Leader Through CARE Awards

CARE_Awards_Wealth Management

For the third consecutive year, Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) selects Monument Wealth Management as a community leader with family-friendly policies and outstanding employee engagement to receive its Companies As Responsive Employers (CARE) Awards.

For more than 25 years, the CARE Awards have recognized outstanding companies making Northern Virginia a better place for everyone to work, live and play. Community engagement, employee engagement, company culture, and progressive family-friendly policies are all major factors considered when selecting CARE Award winners, with a special focus on community.

This is the third consecutive year that Monument Wealth Management will be a recipient of the CARE Award! So what are we doing new this year compared to 2016 and 2017?

Our Virtual Experience

Monument is always researching and adopting the latest technology to improve our client experience and expand our ability to efficiently and effectively do what we’re here to do: provide financial advice.

Offering virtual meetings by video and using collaborative cloud-based systems has not only improved our communications with clients, but also allows us more flexibility to work outside of the office. For example, our Forbes “Top Next Gen Financial Advisor,” Jessica Gibbs is seamlessly working from San Antonio, TX while her husband serves as a U.S. Army officer at Fort Sam Houston.

Our Associate Portfolio Manager, Eitan Boral is also relieved to have the ability to work remote when needed. He explains, “With a young child in school, my wife and I are grateful for the flexible schedule here at Monument. I can work from home when schools are closed and take time off for parent-teacher conferences and other events. It’s important to us that we’re very involved in our daughter’s life, so it’s nice that Monument is supportive of that.”

Ronald McDonald House Sponsorship PHOTONew Event Sponsorships

Another way we’ve grown this year is through our sponsorships and community involvement. There are two major events we sponsored and participated in for the first time this year: Ronald McDonald House’s Charities of Greater Washington D.C. Red Shoe 5k and National Center for Children and Families’ Neediest Kids Foundation golf tournament. You can read more about the ways we give back to the community and our charity involvement on our Monument Gives Back page on our website.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Last, we’ve incorporated official Corporate Social Responsibility standards into our internal Brand Guidelines and policy manual for Team Members. These standards outline how our policies and values positively impact our clients, interns, community and families, and is a major reason we were featured in the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce blog when they named us an Outstanding Corporate Citizenship award nominee. Although we have always been charitably inclined, putting this policy in writing as a core piece of Monument’s identity is a huge accomplishment and another step forward.

“CARE Award winners are leaders in our community who are both inspirational and aspirational,” shares Stephanie Berkowitz, president and CEO at Northern Virginia Family Service. “They continue to show us through their actions and their values that our economy, our community and our bottom lines are strongest when we engage deeply both within our community and with our people.”

Awards will be presented at the 26th Annual CARE Awards Breakfast, held Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, at the Sheraton Premiere Tysons Corner. We will be celebrating the ways in which winning companies are engaging their employees and supporting our community through innovative corporate social responsibility tactics.

At the breakfast, a panel of local leaders including Charles Kuhn, President & CEO of JK Moving, Sheila Murphy, Founder & Partner at FlexProfessionals LLC, and Darcy Smith, Senior Vice President of Team Development at Custom Ink, will discuss the most CARE-ing practices at their companies. This year’s moderator will be Michael Neibauer, Associate Editor at Washington Business Journal.
