Jessica L. Gibbs, CFP® Senior Financial Planner
“You only know whether you’re going in the right direction if you’ve thought about your destination.”Jessica L. Gibbs
Jessica was inspired to become a financial planner after listening to a podcast, of all things. Having graduated with a degree in Political Science from Bryn Mawr College, Jessica started her career at the Brookings Institution—an influential public policy think tank in D.C.—as part of their fundraising team. While she enjoyed working with individuals on their philanthropic giving, she decided that financial planning would be a better way for her to build the type of long-term, advice-driven relationships she loved. So, while working full time at Brookings, she enrolled in Georgetown University’s certificate in financial planning program and, after joining Monument in 2015, became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM.
Jessica has been named a Forbes “Top Next Generation Financial Advisor” (2017) and is an active member of Financial Planning Association’s “NexGen” group for planners under the age of 36.
She is currently working remotely from San Antonio, TX while her husband serves as a U.S. Army officer at Fort Sam Houston—though they are both eager to return to their adopted home of Washington, D.C. Until then, Jessica is leveraging video conferences, digital communication tools and, of course, the phone, to stay fully engaged with Monument’s clients and our Team, and returns to Alexandria periodically throughout the year for in-person meetings.
