Erin M. Hay, CFA, CMT

Private Wealth Advisor, Portfolio Manager

“Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no more.”
—Anonymous (but usually attributed to Albert Einstein)

A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Erin began his investment management career with J.P. Morgan Private Bank. There, he worked with portfolio managers, traders and asset class specialists to bring tailored investment solutions to his team’s high net worth clients. However, intellectual curiosity would dictate both a change in geography and job description.

Here in Washington D.C., Erin landed a job in sell-side equity research, working alongside a team of senior analysts at Compass Point Research & Trading. There, he covered a wide variety of companies within the financial sector, including small cap banks, commercial aircraft leasing, intermodal container leasing and commercial mortgage REITs. Erin’s experience with high net worth clients and investment solutions, paired with the intellectual rigor of equity research, makes him uniquely qualified to craft portfolio solutions and communicate complex investment topics to Monument’s clients. He loves diving into “wonky” ideas and the vagaries of the market, but takes pride in never missing the forest for the trees.

When he’s not caring for client portfolios or digesting investment research, he’s busy in the gym and kitchen, and playing with his adopted lab, Blizzy, at their home in Austin, TX. Other interests include trap and skeet shooting and traveling for University of Oklahoma football games.
