Voted Top Wealth Managers in Northern Virginia
Dean is President, COO, and co-founder of Monument Wealth Management. Over more than three decades in financial services, he’s built his career — and the firm — around a simple idea: wealth should create options, not more complexity. Clients don’t need someone to sell them the investment of the day, they need a strategic thinking partner who helps them bring the whole picture into focus and move toward a more option-rich life. One where they can put more of their priorities first.
Dean’s path to wealth management wasn’t a straight line. After earning his accounting degree at Seton Hall University — where he started for four years on the football team, leading the squad in rushing and receiving in multiple seasons — he was drawn to the energy of the markets during a strong bull run. A mentor at a large Wall Street firm suggested he earn his stripes in sales first, so Dean spent several years in sales management at a large pharmaceutical company before making the leap into financial services.
That detour turned out to be the best education he’s received. It taught him that clients don’t want to be sold. They want an advisor they can trust to help them see around corners, no matter how complex life gets. That conviction is what led him to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®), and ultimately to co-found Monument Wealth Management.
Dean genuinely loves what he does — collaborating with an innovative and driven team, helping clients cut through the moving parts of their financial lives to find real clarity. Learning what clients are passionate about, why they invest, and guiding them through the financial world are what keeps him energized. “Many clients come to us with competing priorities that have gotten tangled together,” Dean says. “Our job isn’t just to untangle them, but to show you your best options, so you can make decisions with the utmost confidence.”
Outside the office, pretty much everything in Dean’s life revolves around his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Sheila, and together they’re incredibly proud of their three grown daughters. When he’s not working, you’ll likely find him fly fishing or out on the golf course — where four decades later, he still plays to win.
