Jessica was inspired by a podcast to become a wealth advisor, which was a completely new path for her. She started her career at an influential public policy think tank in D.C. called the Brookings Institution, as part of their fundraising team. Even though she enjoyed working with individuals on their philanthropic giving, Jessica decided that Private Wealth Design was a better way to build the type of long-term, advice-driven relationships she valued. After completing Georgetown University’s Certificate in Financial Planning program, Jessica joined the team at Monument as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM.
The thing Jessica is most proud of is being named a Forbes “Top Next Generation Financial Advisor” in 2017 and 2019, which she believes says a lot about Monument and the team’s dedication. She strongly believes that while the financial services industry remains commodified, the future lies with independent firms like Monument. We take into consideration the client’s big picture. We learn about your goals, aspirations and concerns, and provide you with a customized approach to turning a wealth of ideas and resources into a blueprint—one that keeps you on track to live the life you want to live.
Jessica works with clients in all areas of Private Wealth Design, but especially enjoys helping them achieve their philanthropic goals. Learning about how they wish to make an impact in their community fuels her own personal passion for philanthropy.
In her free time, she is either reading a novel, eating some really good food–probably tacos—or visiting a botanical garden, which is where she gets inspiration for her future garden.
Jessica is currently working remotely from San Antonio, TX while her husband serves as a U.S. Army officer at Fort Sam Houston—though they are both eager to return to their adopted home of Washington, D.C. Until then, Jessica is leveraging video conferences, digital communication tools and, of course, the phone, to stay fully engaged with Monument’s clients and our Team, and returns to Alexandria periodically throughout the year for in-person meetings.
